Broome Co Sees Decline in Sales Tax Revenue, Report Says

Broome County is struggling this year in sales tax revenue and it isn't alone.

State Comptroller Thomas Dinapoli released a report today showing Broome is one of 16 counties in the state to see a decline in sales tax revenue in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013.
Broome's 5.6 percent drop is the third highest in the state. A spokesperson for the county executive's office says the administration is in the middle of meeting with department heads to budget for next year.

After those meetings finish it will then project what it expects in sales tax revenue for 2015.
