Ithaca Rallies For Victims Of Commons Accident

After a tragic accident that occurred on the commons of Ithaca just over a week ago--the community is trying to come together in any way possible to help the victims of the accident.

After a tractor trailer reportedly lost its brakes coming down a hill, it crashed into a popular restaurant--Simeon's Bistro. The accident killed one woman, injured several others, and destroyed the building.

According to Mayor Svante Myrick's Facebook page, a website has been set up for those affected to register their needs, and for people to donate goods, programs, or services. Myrick's post also outlines a benefit that will be held in Stewart Park on July 8th to benefit the Simeon's staff, the building's tenants, and a barbershop housed in the same building.

There is also a website set up to raise funds for Amanda Bush, the woman killed in the accident.
