Celebs drive, chip, putt for Catholic Schools

The 10th Annual Don Hengel Memorial Sports Classic to benefit the Catholic Schools of Broome County and the Seton athletic program brought plenty of celebrities to Traditions at the Glen Thursday.  Among the notable guests, former New England Patriot Bob Bleier, local artist Anthony Brunelli, BU Men's Basketball Coach Tommy Dempsey, actor and Seton grad John Ducey, Olympic wrestler Gene Mills, actress Christina Moore, former B-Met Matt Raleigh, former Denver Bronco John Schultz, former Syracuse Orange Dale Shackleford, and current Orange Assistant Coach Gerry McNamara who was part of the 2003 National Championship team.

While McNamara grew up in the Scranton area, he was excited for the opportunity to help out Broome County Catholic Schools after saying he's heartbroken that his elementary and high schools, both Catholic Schools, are now closed.

Wednesday night, the Seton Catholic Central Hall of Fame inducted its newest members, those on the Catholic Central 1964 boys basketball team.
