Public Warned of Donation Scams in the Name of Slain State Trooper Christopher Skinner

It's not the type of thing that well-intentioned people should have to think about at a time like this--

But authorities are warning  the public to beware of  potentially fraudulent accounts that might be created on the internet, requesting donations for the family of Trooper Christopher Skinner, who was killed  Thursday on 1-81 North, by a motorist who, authorities say, intentionally struck him.

The Skinner family is endorsing only two funds at this time--

The first is the Skinner Children Ed Fund, set up at Visions Federal Credit Union.

The second is the Signal 30 fund, at nystpba.org/home.aspx

That's an organization that helps the families of New York State Police.
