America East Women's Basketball Tournament coming to BU

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.  – Binghamton University’s Events Center will host the 2015 and 2016 America East Women’s Basketball Championship, the conference office and institution announced on Monday. The league’s Athletic Directors voted to send the women’s championship to Binghamton for the second time in conference history.

The men’s and women’s tournaments will be held separately for the first time since 2009 as the men will go to a high-seed format in 2015. The quarterfinals and semifinals of the women’s tournament will take place at Binghamton with the title game being played the following weekend at the highest remaining seed.

A press conference will be held on Tuesday, May 13, at 2 p.m. at the Events Center in Vestal, N.Y. as part of the official announcement of the 2015 and 2016 women’s basketball championship site. All members of the media are welcome to attend. The press conference will be streamed live on AmericaEast.TV.
