Lockheed Lands Contract for Presidential Helicopter

Lockheed Martin in Owego, along with Sikorski Aircraft, will receive a $1.26 billion contract to build a new fleet of Marine One presidential helicopters...
This announcement made late Wednesday afternoon by New York senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
The contract is expected to create or sustain about 200 jobs at the Owego facility.
The aircraft will be manufactured by Sikorsky in Connecticut, with subsequent work on systems integration, and mission equipment and electronics installation performed at the Lockheed Martin facility in Owego.
Jurors Continue Cal Harris Deliberations
The jury in the trial of Cal Harris began day 3 of its deliberations this morning in Schoharie County Court.
Harris is the Tioga County man charged with second degree murder for the death of his wife Michele back in September of 2001. No body or murder weapon has ever been found.
After eleven weeks of testimony, the jury received the case last week after closing arguments spread over a span of two days.
