Media Report: Gang Members Sold Drugs on B.U. Campus

A New York City television station is reporting that  members of the Bloods street gang known as the "Macballas"  were involved in drug trafficking that  included the sale of narcotics on the campus of Binghamton University:

The arrests of 14 alleged gang members in Binghamton, two weeks ago , involved searches of nine Binghamton locations, along with others in New york city.

Dozens of other suspects were arrested Tuesday in the Bronx.  Members of the gang are also accused of assaults, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

B.U's Director of Media and Public Relations Ryan Yarosh, tells Fox 40 News that the school has no information on any investigation involving campus drug sales, and there are no records of any arrests involving students.

He also says Binghamton Police have told school officials there is no connection between this investigation and the B.U.campus.

The report is being carried by NBC 4 news in New York City.
