The City of Binghamton could be seeing a new, and mobile, option for food in the area.
Today the Municipal and Public Affairs committee held a meeting to review proposed legislation regarding food vendors in the city. And although no decision has been made so far on whether or not food trucks will be allowed in Binghamton--today's discussion was mainly a preemptive step.
"The first thing we want to do is get legislation that governs everything. Where are they going to be, do we want to have food trucks just in certain areas. So that's what we're going to be discussing," said Jerry Motsavage, Council Member, 1st District.
Before any permanent decisions are made, the committee would like to launch a pilot program for food trucks to see how they are received by the community.
