Endicott Gun Rights Rally

A pro-gun rally in Endicott was held Wednesday evening with speakers from New York Revolution, Scope, and Oathkeepers.

They came in an educational forum to protest and inform the public of what they say are the dangers of New York's gun control laws.

What they especially fear is the focus on gun registration.

"We all know registration leads to confiscation. We will not comply; we must not comply," said Mike Kicinksi, candidate for 22nd Congressional District.

On the state's website,  it says New York's "Safe Act" stops criminals and the dangerously mentally ill from buying a gun by requiring universal background checks on gun purchases.

It also increases penalties for people who use illegal guns and mandates life in prison without parole for anyone who murders a first responder.

Yet Governor Cuomo also says on the website that for hunters, sportsmen, and law abiding gun owners, this new law preserves and protects your right to buy, sell, keep or use your guns.

This is something that Wednesday's speakers largely disagree with.
