Tigers derail Express to take home Section Title

The Union-Endicott Tigers cruise into the state playoffs, getting revenge on the Elmira Express 73-61 to take home the Section IV Class AA Boys Title at the Arena Thursday night.  CJ Krowiak led the Tigers attack with 30 points, including two 3-pointers.  Matt Gaydorus was the only Tiger in double digits with 13, sinking three from behind the arc.

U-E led 38-22 at halftime, but Elmira came out and brought the game into single digits quickly.  However, unlike the last time these two met, when the Express upset the Tigers 93-91 in overtime, U-E was not letting that happen again.  After the game both Krowiak and Joey Orlando said that losing that last contest to Elmira and not taking home a STAC Title after falling to Norwich, they had plenty of motivation to to get the job done in the Section Finals.

Zach Nierstadt and Tyler Moffe were the only Express in double digits, 17 and 15 points respectively.

The Tigers get a bye into the quarterfinals, drawing the winner of the Section I/Section IX cross over game.
