IBM in Endicott and the Latest Round of Layoffs

IBM still won't say just how many local workers might be affected by its latest round of lay-offs.

But according to Lee Conrad, of the IBM Workers' Group "Alliance" ten to 15 people no longer have jobs.

The cuts apparently came Wednesday morning.

The trimming is part of what some observers say will be up to 15-thousand job losses at IBM world wide in the first quarter of this year.

About 720 workers are still employed by IBM in Endicott, according to Conrad.
