Vestal Local Returns from Afghanistan

With the United States telling the Afghani government it may pull all troops from that country without a security agreement by the end of the year, the question now becomes how well the Afghanis will be able to fight the war on terror on their own...

One man with special insight is William Kelley. The Vestal resident has worked for the State Department, training Afghan police for much of the last decade before returning last August.

He says while there is corruption in the military in Afghanistan, there are also dedicated soldiers willing to fight.

"A lot of the police officers and the military the United States trained are dedicated to making their country better. They will get there sooner or later but they have to fight the War on Terrorism the way we taught them to do it," said Kelley.

Tomorrow on Fox 40 HD News hear more about Kelley's tours in Afghanistan, his thoughts on those who didn't make it back home, and his surviving two separate IED attacks by the Taliban.
