Endicott Officials Look to Extend Existing Trail

Endicott runners, walkers, bicyclists, and even cross country skiiers can look forward to a trail on the northside of the Susquehanna river.

Endicott officials are working to extend the existing Chugnut trail. Right now that trail is about a mile long and runs parallel to the Vestal Rail trail. The extension would add about three miles and extend toward En-joie golf course, to Round Top park, and end in the Glendale park area.

"Most people that have talked to me about it are in favor of it. A couple of people have raised the same question of, is this the best use of our money, our limited resources. And we have to talk about that too," said Dave Baker, Deputy Mayor, Endicott.

The main concern is the cost that would come with building and maintaining the trail.

There will be a public meeting at the Endicott Municipal building tomorrow at 6:30pm concerning the trail.
