Bigger, Brighter Signs Welcome Students Back to Campus

Bigger, brighter, more visible than ever.  It's the newly redesigned entrance to the Binghamton University campus.
The design, which was unveiled Monday, was selected after an internal competition in the physical facilities department. Thirty thousand cars drive by the entrance daily and the signs are designed to make the entrance more welcoming for students, faculty and visitors.

"We liked this one because it's two signs, so it brings traffic in and allows you to see the sign from both directions," said Jesenko Muftic, Director of Design for Physical Facilities at BU.

"Certainly we want people to be proud of where they work and where they go to school. And I think when you drive through here, you look at that sign, it gives you a feeling of pride," said Harvey Stenger, President of BU.

BU had a mock up of the new signs in place before the permanent structures were built. President Stenger says he can't wait for students to return next week and see the signs.
