Trekking through the Snow for a Cause

While it may not have been the weather they were expecting, runners still made their way to the Vestal Rail Trail Saturday. It was the annual "Claus for a Cause" 5K Run/Walk.

The runners braved the cold and dressed in their warmest clothes as they made their way throughout the snowy ground. People also brought toys to help Toys for Tots. Participants say finishing the run through the snow was a big accomplishment.

"It's so much harder running in the snow. I think I did alright. It was a good challenge and a nice experience. I've  never done it before," said Anthony McCabe, Chenango Valley Resident.

"It feels great. I mean it's something that we wanted to do and it's been a goal and it's great to contribute to toys for tots. It's such an awesome charity," said Maria Majka, Vestal Resident.

The Vestal Coal house was at the finish line of the rail trail. It will be holding horse drawn wagon rides every weekend  until Christmas.
