Instant Decision Day for SUNY Broome Students

Some SUNY Broome students looking to move on to Binghamton University got immediate acceptance today.

BU held it's Instant Decision Day at SUNY Broome allowing students with 45 credits or more, and at least a GPA of 3.0 to be instantly accepted to Binghamton University for the 2014 spring semester.

BU officials say that it's a great way to keep students in the area.

"It's a great opportunity because we basically get to take our homegrown talent. We know how talented our students are here, how hard they do work. And what's better than taking students from our home town and transferring to Binghamton for the second part of their education," said Karen Cummings an Undergraduate Administrator for Binghamton University.

According to Binghamton University officials one-third of students entering BU are transfers with more than half of those coming from two-year schools.
