Turning Hate into Love: Documentary Tells Stories of Spiritual Transformations following Terror Attacks
9/11/2013 (Updated 11:22:39 PM)
A film maker with roots in the Southern Tier presented a documentary at B.U. Wednesday about 9/11 and its effects on three families who lost loved ones in the attacks as well as those lost in other terrorist bombings around the world.
Don Hardy's film explores not only the horror and the evil of the terrorist act, but also the spiritual journey of families who turned their hate into love and hope for a better world.
"Out of that really dark day a lot of good things had happened. We wanted to try and tell that story of some of the positive outcomes of darkness and hatred, what we saw on September 11th. We can all maybe do something, try to turn a negative into a positive and try to do something for our fellow man in some kind of way. And that's the message we hope people take away from the film," said film maker Don Hardy.
The documentary is entitled The Ripple Effect: Fighting Hate with Love.
