AKRON, OH  The Binghamton Mets erased a three-run deficit, but fell to the Akron Aeros, 4-3, in eleven innings on Friday night at Canal Park. Giovanny Urshela singled home the game-winning run off Armando Rodriguez to hand the B-Mets their sixth walk-off loss of the year.

The Aeros hung a crooked number in the first inning for the second straight night. Tyler Naquin kicked off the rally by lining a one-out double down the left-field line. After a wild pitch and a walk, Jesus Aguilar put Akron and on the board and collected his league-leading 99th RBI of the season with a single to right field. Tyler Holt capped the scoring with a sac fly to right, plating Carlos Moncrief.

Akron used an aggressive form of base running to extend their lead in the third. Moncrief and Aguilar set the stage with back-to-back singles to open the frame. On the first pitch to Holt, catcher Blake Forsythe fired a high throw to second in attempt to nab Moncrief. With no chance to get back to the bag, Moncrief dashed for third and reached safely without a throw. Holt brought him home with a sac bunt, giving the Aeros a 3-0 advantage.

Binghamton took a chunk out of the deficit in the fourth against Brett Brach. Batting second in the lineup for the first time this season, Wilfredo Tovar led off with walk, stole second and took third on a ground out. With two outs, Travis Taijeron laced an RBI single to left and Blake Forsythe bounced an RBI double off the right-field wall, cutting Akrons lead to one.

Goeddel capped his night with three scoreless innings, retiring 11 of the final 14 batters he faced. The righty worked around a two-out double in the fourth, used a double play to post a shutout fifth and side-stepped a leadoff single in a scoreless sixth.

Brach countered with three shutout innings of his own, but stumbled in the eighth. Binghamtons game-tying rally started with a one-out walk to Danny Muno. Muno put himself in scoring position by stealing second and Tovar brought him home by bouncing a single up the middle, knotting the game at three. Jeff Johnson took over for Brach and collected the final two outs of the inning, stranding the potential go-ahead run at third base.

Chase Huchingson preserved the tie with a perfect eighth after he had entered in the seventh and posted a shutout inning. Chasen Bradford worked around leadoff walks in the ninth and tenth to add two shutout frames.

For the second straight night, the B-Mets could not break through against the Aeros bullpen. Bryce Stowell used a double play to silence the B-Mets in the ninth and Kyle Blair danced around a leadoff walk to Alonzo Harris in the tenth to keep the B-Mets off the board. Blair returned for the eleventh and got the first two outs before being removed in the middle of Forsythes at-bat. Shawn Armstrong entered and issued a walk to the catcher before fanning Joe Bonfe.

Armando Rodriguez took the reins for the B-Mets in the eleventh and walked Holt. Jake Lawery singled to put runners on the corners. With one out, Urshela laced an 0-2 pitch up the middle, driving in Holt with the game-winning run.

Armstrong (2-3) recorded just one out and picked up his first win of the season. Rodriguez (2-3) was tagged for one run on two hits in the losing effort.

The B-Mets (81-51) continue their final series against the Aeros on Saturday night at 7:05 PM. LHP Darin Gorski gets the nod for Binghamton against RHP Will Roberts.
