The night is was bright with fireworks at Hickories Park in Owego Wednesday.
The holiday fun almost didn't happen since the park was closed down at 8 p.m. Tuesday because of flooding concerns.
But, it was dry enough to let the big bash continue and it brought the meaning of the Fourth to many who came out:
"Well, it means enjoying the great freedoms that we have in this great country. Being with family, thinking about the history that went into making all this possible. Just look around, what a spectacular setting and beautiful park and the most awesome county in the world, I would say."
