TOWN OF MAINE -- Visitors to the Greater Binghamton Airport will get an up-close look at "Pillars of the Community."
Eleven businesses and organizations are sponsoring columns at the airport. Those sponsorship's will raise $50,000 for the airport over the next two years. Among the groups sponsoring these pillars are three of the area's schools: Davis College, Broome Community College, and Binghamton University.
"When visitors arrive at BGM we have the opportunity to sell them on our community and all we have to offer. Today I am pleased to announce that we have cashed in on that opportunity," said Debbie Preston, Broome County Executive (R).
County Commissioner of Aviation Carl Beardsley says there are still pillars available for sponsorship at the airport.
