Saints reflect on state title
6/10/2013 (Updated 10:56:01 PM)BINGHAMTON -- The Seton Catholic Baseball team accomplished a feat that no boys' team has done before: winning a state championship.
On Monday afternoon, the team got a chance to showcase its hardware at school. The Saints held the high school version of a championship parade, honoring the players and coaches in front of parents and the student body.
Afterwards, Seton pitching duo Patrick Gosney and Michael Korchak offered their thoughts on the ceremony.
Gosney, a senior, reflected on the season, "Throughout the whole year we've come a long way. We went through a lot of adversity. We were down some games and we came back. It's such a good feeling knowing that all the work we put in in the offseason has really come to pay off."
Junior Korchak discussed the Saints future, "I think we definitely have a chance to go as far as we did this year again. We've got some returning players and some young guys coming up that'll replace some of the spots and I think we can go pretty far."
Head Coach Jim Miller added that he is proud of his team and their work ethic.
