CHICAGO -- The Mets and Cubs opened up a series Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field, with the Mets winning 3-2.
Matt Harvey took the mound for New York and notched his fifth win of the season. It was a long time coming for the righty, who had not registered a decision in any of his previous four starts. Harvey is now 5-0 in 2013.
David Wright and Daniel Murphy homered for the Mets and Matt Harvey drove in what proved to be the game-winning run in the seventh inning.
