Local Tea Party activists are outraged at reports the IRS targeting conservative political groups.
Gilda Ward, the coordinator of the Norwich Tea Party Patriots says her chapter hasn't been subject to extra scrutiny by the IRS, but she has heard from officials in other chapters who say they have.
She says other Tea Party leaders told her that activity picked up as last year's election approached.
"I've heard groups from all over the country complaining about being targeted, being hit, having their tax-exempt status questioned, denied. The IRS would demand they'd have to release lists of their members, lists of their donors," said Ward.
Ward says she believes the IRS misdeeds go beyond just low-level employees of the agency.
