VESTAL -- The BU Bearcats Softball Team held their postseason media day Tuesday afternoon.
Head Coach Michelle Burrell and Junior Jessica Bump discussed their excitement to play host to the America East Tournament in their first season in their new softball facility.
Burrell said, "This is the last week of classes and then they have finals coming up next week so I definitely do think it's to our advantage to be playing at home."
Added Bump, "We're hoping to get a lot of fans out again this weekend and just overall it's a really great feeling. To win our first conference title at home would be great."
The Bearcats host Hartford Thursday afternoon at 3:30. The team has had success against the Hawks this season, taking two out of three in a series in April. Demi Laney, slated to start Thursday, has already pitched 12 scoreless innings against Hartford this year, while Jessica Bump has carried the offense. The junior went 3-5 with a couple of home runs against the Hawks.
