Families Give Back at Mom's House Rocker-Thon
3/16/2013 (Updated 10:53:02 PM)ENDWELL-- Families were rocking out and giving back on Saturday to an organization that has helped them achieve an education.
Food, limbo, musical chairs, and prizes-- it was all part of the annual Rocker-thon benefit for Mom's House of Johnson City. Hundreds of people came out to show support for the non-profit, free child care center for the children of low-income single parents who are enrolled in school full-time.
"It's important to me because I wouldn't have been able to graduate Ithaca College without them. Because day care is expensive and I commute so it takes a lot of time and energy," said Beth Green, who uses Mom's House's services.
Organizers say they raised over $5,000, a record amount for the event.
