3/5/2013 (Updated 6:44:11 PM)Investigators say they now know the cause of the fire in Endwell Monday night from which a mother and young child escaped.
Endwell Fire Chief Jeff Winchell tells Fox 40 News that the fire began when vapors from a bucket of paint thinner drifted to a furnace on the first floor.
That's where John Stilloe roofing and siding is housed at 2502 North Street.
The fire spread to the second floor apartment where, a woman and young child were inside at the time, but escaped without injury.
