People turned out in Vestal on Wednesday in part because the Town Board may soon decide whether to approve a new site for the Vestal Nursing Center.
The Vestal Road location was destoyed on the flood of 2011. The nursing facility now wants to build a new site on Route 26 and West Sheedy Road.
But Town Supervisor John Schaffer says there is a lot to be considered.
"One is the flooding coming down off the hill, The big one is the traffic of Rt. 26 and Juneberry Rd. As far as im concerned, that's been a very dangerous spot for years," John Schaffer, Vestal Town Supervisor.
The Planning Board has to meet next month, to decide if it will approve the plans. The new site would have 160 beds in a two-story building with almost 200 parking spaces.
