Arrangements Set to Honor Fallen Owego Firefighter

Details on arrangements to honor fallen Owego firefighter Matthew Porcari have now been made.

Porcari died on Monday night battling a blaze in Newark Valley.

Calling hours will be held Saturday from noon to four at the Owego Middle School Gymnasium on Sheldon Guile Boulevard.

The funeral will be held Sunday at the same location at 2pm. The Owego Fire Department says Porcari's family has asked that donations in Matthew

Porcari's name to the following:

Owego, NY 13872.

Croton Hose Company # 3
c/o Tom Donovan 71 Talcott St.
Owego, NY 13827.

Lieutenant Daniel Gavin was also injured in the fire.

He has returned home after being treated at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. The fire is still under investigation.
