Richardson sees bigger lockout picture

BINGHAMTON -- Hockey is back.

Unless you're a fan of the AHL; In that case hockey never left.

But soon players here in bingo will be doing exactly that leaving. Leaving for NHL training camps before the season starts sometime in the next week or two.

Robin Lehner, and Ben Bishop are both expected to make the trip to Ottawa for camp. Defenseman Andr Benoit, Pat Wiercoich, and Mark Borowiecki could be headed to the Great White North as well, with Jakob Silfverberg and two other forwards rumored to heading to camp.

Despite the loss of talent, B-Sens head coach Luke Richardson sees the bigger picture.

"It's a great day for hockey. The fact that they get back to work this week - I'm sure is an inspiration for players in this league to move up, and to get a shot. It's been a great first half of the season to really show themselves."
