U-E Students Send Gifts Overseas
12/20/2012 (Updated 10:55:40 PM)
The Jennie F. Snapp Middle School Key Club is making holiday cards and friendship bracelets for soldiers.
Seventh grade teacher Jenna Hoyt has a brother in the Marines. Students will package and send their gifts to his unit, which will be deployed to Afghanistan.
"This is a wonderful project that one of my former students Jenna actually thought up. So I'm so proud of her and it hits very close to home because my brother is in the Marines," said Sarah Azzarella.
"It feels really nice because I remember when my sister was deployed she was talking about how there were a lot of soldiers who were over there that didn't get letters and stuff and that made me mad and sad," said Jenna Hoyt a Key Club Member.
More than two hundred letters have been written school wide for this project.
