If you were looking for some original pieces of art to take home then the Owego Fine Art Show and Sale was the place to be.
The Tioga County Council on the Arts presented the "En Plein Air" Fine Art Show at Draper Park in downtown Owego. Several artists showcased their work. It was the 25th year that the show has been taking place. There were several prizes awarded including 100 dollars for the "Best in Show."
"The strategy is about 50 percent technical and 50 percent emotional. You really have to have an emotion and real connection with the scene you're painting. Otherwise it's just a photograph. That's all it is." said
Ed Steinhilper who won Best in Show.
"The same group of artists come back each year. So it's almost like a family. They enjoy seeing each other and working with each other and talk about what they're doing with art. So it's a wonderful tradition for Owego." said Steve Cooper, President of the Tioga County Council on the Arts.
This year was the first time that a junkyard art exhibit and sale was featured at the event.
