'Heading Toward Third World War,' Says Trends Forecaster Celente

The tensions in the Mid-East are causing concerns among a number of observers--
--And among them is trends forecaster Gerald Celente.

For the past several years, he's been predicting that the worsening state of the global economy will  eventually lead  the West into a  huge war to hang onto  geopolitical power--empire, and resources in the Mid-East.

He says what's going on in Syria is just a pre-curser to the big event.

The flash point, he says, will be Iran:

"I'm concerned the most about Iran.
Because if America or NATO or Israel goes to war against Iran it is the beginning of World War 3.
There 70-million strong.
This is not Iraq.
It's not Afganistan.
The war will spread global and that's my greatest fear.
Listen to all of these guys in both parties talking about getting tough with Iran.
Getting tougher with Syria.
Yea, they just lost two wars over there in Iraq or Afganistan.
Yea, now you're going to hit a home run? I can't believe that people still believe this stuff and follow these leaders.
Go back to who I believe the greatest president of the United States was in my lifetime.

Dwight D Eisenhower,  a five star general, Supreme Commander of the Allied forces, two-term Republican president.

Certainly no 'Lefty Pinko Commie' as they would call him back in those days.

And he warns that the military industrial complex is robbing the nation of the genius of the scientists.

--The sweats of labor, and the future of its children.

Here we are.

Eisenhower's prediction has come true.

You don't hear any any any of the candidates talking about that--
About bringing the troops home, securing the United States.

Gerald Celente's Trends Research Institute is in Kingston, New York.
