Cuomo Releases Report on Education Commission

Governor Cuomo has released a final report from the new New York Education Reform Commission.

The report contains recommendations for transforming the state's schools by breaking down barriers to student achievement and improving the quality of education for students.

The commission was formed in 2012 to identify ways to increase the quality of education across the state.

Some of the recommendations included were three issues the governor included in his State of the State speech last week--like
expanding early education, expanding the use of technology in schools and reward the best and brightest educator.

Last Wednesday, Cuomo announced a statewide teacher performance program that would award teachers who were rated highly effected on their evaluations an up to $20,000 bonus.
