Local Christmas Exhibit Hosts Harpist

Another museum in the area added another element to their Christmas exhibit today. The Tioga Historical Society in Owego invited a local harpist to their O'Tannenbaum Showcase.
Meredith Bocek has been playing harp since she was in 7th grade. She says that because a harp is made similar to the body with a layered structure, many people are very attracted to the beautiful music.

"Harp is an amazing instrument because the strings and there's a lot of vibration and vibration is very healthy for the body," said Meredith Kohn Bocek, harpist.

Bocek performed an assortment of Chrsitmas music ranging from slow tunes, to more upbeat ones, and even some contemporary pieces. She lives locally and  gives lessons at The Harp Studio outside of Owego.
