B-Sens and Pens renew rivalry Friday

BINGHAMTON -- Last time the B-Sens faced the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it spelled the end of their season. The Pens sent the B-Sens packing after a three-game sweep in the first round of last year's playoffs.

Friday night marks the first time the teams will meet since that fateful evening in early May. The task will not be easy for Binghamton, as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton currently sits at 6-0-0 atop the division.

For a team returning most of its players from last year's squad, one might think the B-Sens would have revenge on their minds. But for Binghamton, it's another "R" word: Rivalry.

Team captain Mark Borowiecki says, "We always have a rivalry with this team. We're so close together and we're always close in the standings. We always have tight games and I'm sure it's going to be no different."

Defenseman Chris Wideman adds, "We have a lot of guys returning from last year and losing in the first round wasn't ideal, but we are trying to win every game. We are going to play hard and hopefully come out with a win."

The puck drops at the Arena at 7:05 PM Friday.
