Youth Group Sells Pumpkins Grown by Navajo Indians

The youth group at Our Lady of Sorrow knows that October is the month for pumpkin carving. They're giving you the chance to purchase some of those pumpkins.

With more than two thousand pumpkins spread out of the church's lawn there's one for everyone. The pumpkins range from small ones for fifty cents, to massive ones for thirty dollars. The church received the pumpkins from Navajo Indians in New Mexico and part of the proceeds will go back to the farmers.

"They can't just grow these pumpkins, they can't just randomly find these seeds. They have to go buy the seeds for everything else they need," said youth group member Brandan Barnes.

The youth group will be selling the pumpkins through the end of the month.
