High School Bands Perform under Saturday Night Lights

While Friday nights might be all about high school football this Saturday night was all about the high school bands.

Nine schools from across New York state competed in the Golden Circle of Bands competition in Dick Hoover stadium at Vestal High School, Saturday. The high school hosts Golden Circle of Bands each year and their coach says it's something they look forward to.

"This crowd is all here to see the bands and is here to cheer us on. At the football games sometimes, we don't get that experience. They're here for the football games," Tiger's Pride Marching Band Director, Joe Brainard said.

The theme of the competition this year was "Vestal: Rebuilt."  It's to remember the 2011 floods and the damage done to the high school and the area.
