Flood Buyouts in the Works for Town of Union

Next week, the Town of Union will begin processing buyout forms from residents affected by the 2011 flood.

The forms will be sent to residents electronically or can be piked up at town hall, or mailed.

The processing begins this coming Tuesday from 9am to 12pm.

Town Supervisor Rose Sotak said staff will be on hand to help residents fill out the forms, and offices will remain open at night or even on weekend if needed.

Completed forms will be sent to Albany for a final review.

"We are ready to do the buyout process immediately. As soon as that OK is done from Albany, the Town of Union is ready for their residents," said Sotak.

Residents must provide income and information on household composition.

Those who do not meet the low to moderate income guidelines are still eligible for buyouts.
