B-Mets still have work to do despite clinching division

BINGHAMTON -- On Wednesday night the B-Mets clinched the Eastern Division Title with a win over Bowie.

For a squad that has already reached its regular season pinnacle but still has a dozen games remaining, how does the team stay on track and focused?

Manager Pedro Lopez says his team knows they still have work to do because even though they are on top, there is room for improvement.

Skipper Pedro Lopez said, "I know we're in the playoffs but this is time for us to get ready, to prepare ourselves so when the bell rings September 4 we are ready to go. We're going to keep going out there trying to work, trying to get better every day. Our at-bats need to get better. I think that for the last couple days or maybe a week, our at-bats haven't been where we want them."

The B-Mets begin a four-game series in Akron Thursday night.
