Obama May Stress Importance of Higher Education at BU

The speculation is that when President Obama comes to Binghamton next week, he'll be at Binghamton University talking not just about preserving the middle class, but also about the importance of affordable higher educaton.

The school is still not confirming whether President Obama will stop there as his planned two-day bus tour takes him through Pennsylvania and Upstate New York, including Binghamton, next Thursday and Friday.

The school's president knows what he would talk to Obama about if given the chance.

"Probably the most important thing is how important higher education is, public, affordable accessible public education is to the future of our country and our economy. The more students who can get an education, the better off we're going to be," said Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger.

Multiple reports, officially unconfirmed, say that the president will be at BU.
