Funeral for Former Owego Mayor

Owego said goodbye to the man who served them as a volunteer, first responder, and mayor as Edward Arrington was laid to rest Monday.

Friends and family gathered for the funeral service at First Church of the Nazarene in Owego.

He had served three terms as Mayor of Owego and he died last Wednesday at the age of 70.

His family will always remember how much he loved his community and how he treated others.

"Everyone remembers Mr. Arrington, the coach, the dad that was always in the stands. He always had us doing things for others and that's really how he lived his life. He was just a very, very kind soul," said Kimberly Arrington-Thomas the daughter of Edward Arrington.

Edward Arrington was the first African American Mayor of Owego.
