Bringing Bluegrass Back to Norwich

A blue grass festival brought back to life.

It had been going on for over two decades, the Norwich Bluegrass festival, but it was canceled last year.  Danny Stewart had played in a band at the festival in years past and wanted to bring it back to the Chenango County Fair Ground this year.

Starting around Christmas time, Stewart began his planning and fast forward to this weekend, a hundred people are now camping out on-site and many more are expected to come on by to listen to blue grass bands from across the nation.

He say's he's ready to start planning for next years.

"I'm already inspired, even if I lose a bit this year because the simple fact that everybody's walking around thanking me for actually bringing it back. You can see it in their face that they might be local, I say local like within an hour, and its just something that they didn't want to die so lets keep this thing alive you know," said Stewart.

On Saturday, there is a band competition and on Sunday there will be a gospel sing.  It is $25 to stop on by for the day.
