Big Art Brightens Gorgeous Washington Street

First Fridays in Binghamton will be even more colorful from now on:

Mayor Matt Ryan and the 'Gorgeous Washington Street Association unveiled a new banner for the monthly Art Walk, which is called: 'Big Art in a Little City.'

The banner was designed by local resident and B.U. student Rosemary Smith. Smith says she wanted to depict the liveliness of the city:

"...the vibrance, and that Binghamton is a fun place to be, and to live and that there is so many things going on. There's always something to do with your family or with your friends late at night. So I was hoping I could wrap all that up in one thing," said Smith.
Smith's design was chosen through a competition of local artists.
