Police: Man Robbed Gas Station at Knifepoint

BINGHAMTON -- Binghamton Police have arrested a 38-year-old man, who is accused of robbing a gas station at knifepoint.

Steven Van Winkle was charged with first-degree robbery.  Police say he robbed the Hess Station on Glenwood Avenue in Binghamton at about 4:45 a.m.Saturday,

Police say they caught Van Winkle later in the morning after an alleged arceny at the Family Dollar on Clinton Street. 

Van Winkle is currently in police custody, awaiting arraignment in Binghamton City Court.
