River Trail Cleanup

BINGHAMTON --  Locals spent Saturday working to beautify the neighborhood.

Volunteers gathered at Cheri A. Lindsey Memorial Park to pick up cans, bottles, and all other kinds of litter along the Downtown Binghamton's River Trail.  The group cleaned up the area all the way to Confluence Park.  Volunteers said they were surprised how much trash they found.

"I think it's really important that people are taking direct action in their community and helping make it feel like a cleaner and safer place to be," said Spokes Person for Endeavor Collective, Shawna Stevenson.

The clean-up was hosted by the Endeavor Collective, a group working to create a housing cooperative in the Binghamton area.  Saturday's event was held as a part of the ongoing Susquehanna River Honor Journey.
