Natural Gas Development Forum

The Joint Landowners Coalition of New York, a group which wants to see fracking allowed in New York State, held a panel discussion in Albany on Thursday.

The group says it wants to debunk what it calls myths surrounding natural gas development. Among the topics it touched on Thursday were health and quality-of-life issues. The audience included state legislators and legislative staff members.

"Remember Governor Cuomo had called on groups in favor of natural gas development to do more educating of the public to allay some of the fears and that was really our goal today," said Scott Kurkoski, attorney for the Joint Landowners Coalition of New York.

Anti-fracking critics  claimed the panel, which included a health company CEO and hydrologist, had a pro-fracking bias.
