The Boys and Girl Club of Western Broome Family Center in Endicott has undergone some much needed renovation to its fitness center.

Members now can enjoy a nearly double the original size and brand equipment.

Some of the previous machines date back to more than 30 years.

The fitness center is part of the club'S programming.  Executive Director Rick Materese said he hopes this will help promote a healthy lifestyle to even the youngest of members.

"Because we're a family center, we can affect everybody, and can show our kids who are here that adults are here taking care of their bodies, taking care of themselves to get in shape and stay in shape.  We try to pass that on to the kids for them to do that also," said Executive Director Rick Materese.

The $100,000 project was made possible in part by a grant from the Decker Foundation and fundraising efforts in the community.
