Fossil Fuels Transparency Rally
4/25/2013 (Updated 11:04:43 PM)Another battlefront involving fracking-- this one on the campus of Binghamton University.
Protesting students, alumni and professors say that the University's Binghamton Foundation has leased 600 of its acres for fracking --without input from students, faculty, or donating alumni.
"They do make decisions about controversial issues with out any input from the students or the constituents at all. We make up the college we should have a say or at least know what's paying for what we're getting. That's what I believe at the very least," said Joseph Morales of Ideas for Binghamton.
The protestors want the University to divest from the 200 fossil fuel companies which they say hold the vast majority of the world's oil, coal, and gas reserves
