Recall Elections for Legislators?

If you don't like what your state representative or senator is doing --or not doing for you in Albany, should you be able to recall him --or her?

Just days after polls showed an overwhelming majority of New Yorkers see corruption as a major problem in Albany, Assembly Republicans want to amend the state constitution to allow for recall elections...
The proposed legislation would call for a certain percentage - maybe 20 percent - of those who voted in a previous election to petition the secretary of state for a recall.

"This is basically an opportunity to give people the idea that if they actually want to do this they could recall a legislator if they feel they have done wrong," said assemblyman Clifford Crouch (r-122nd district).

"Again, the threshold is high. it's certainly worth taking a look at. I can see why people would want to have that option," said assemblywoman Donna Lupardo (D-Endwell).
Both houses of the legislature would need to pass the amendment. then the next legislature which commences in 2015 would have to do the same.
After that,  voters would have to approve the amendment in the fall of 2015.
