Exploring Higher Art Music with Jeff McAuley
6-7:30 p.m.
129 Main Street Binghamton, NY 13905
Admission: $8
Detail: Fifth Class: Late Beethoven and Early Romanticism.
The music of Beethoven's middle period had romantic tendencies, but towards the end of his life, the romantic movement was in full swing.
Romantics like Schuberty, Mendelssohn, and Berlioz were beginning to shake up the musical world, developing new forms and working with a broader range of extremes; structurally, melodically, harmonically, rhythmically, and most certainly, emotionally. These artists demonstrate what it meas to wear your heart on your sleeve.
